This Libra New Moon Ritual Asks Whose “Perfect Life” You’re Living

Welcome to your monthly New Moon ritual with intuitive astrologer Meghan Rose. Each month brings a new energy to work with as you set your intentions. These rituals help you move from hoping, wishing, and dreaming into real, actionable change.
In October, the New Moon arrives in Libra on October 10. This month, we’re taking inspiration from the date itself: 10/10. What would a ten-out-of-ten life look like for you? That’s the question at the heart of this ritual.
With both the sun and moon in Libra, you can turn your attention away from the noise and demands around you. It’s easy to chase a rush, a hit of dopamine, or another like. This New Moon asks you to think about the kind of life that feels peaceful and fulfilling once the excitement wears off. Here’s how to begin.
Your New Moon in Libra Ritual for October
There’s no need to overcomplicate this month’s New Moon. Libra is cardinal air, ruled by Venus: attentive, connected, relationship-oriented, and drawn to beauty. Work with that energy on 10/10 by giving your idea of a beautiful life room to take shape.
What You’ll Need:
- A journal or paper you love
- Pens that feel lovely to use
- A pink, purple, or white candle
- A little time to yourself
Don’t be afraid to doodle, use color, or sprinkle a little glitter on your paper when you’re done. The question guiding this ritual is: What would a balanced, peaceful life look like for me?
Step 1: Find Your Soul Center
Before you answer, take a few deep breaths. Close your eyes for a moment or walk around in nature. Unplug and let go of other people’s thoughts, opinions, and lives for a little while.
Libra energy can sometimes get caught in indecision or people-pleasing. You might feel the urge to scroll, ask someone what they think, or get caught up in the details before you’ve written a word. Acknowledge it, then let it go. This is your answer to write.
Step 2: Write Out Your Dream Life
Light your candle and write as many pages as you want. Describe how you feel when you wake up, the people around you, your habits and routines, and what your home looks and feels like. What are you doing that makes you feel fulfilled and purposeful?
Let it all out on the paper. Once you’ve finished, fold it toward you three times and place it under your pillow or mattress.
Step 3: Come Back to It Next Month
Set a reminder for November 9, the next New Moon. Before you begin the Scorpio ritual, read what you wrote and notice what has changed. Has part of that ten-out-of-ten life already begun to take shape?
Finally, take a long bath with calming music. Relish the beauty of your life, your body, your home, and this present moment. How Venusian! If you use candles by the bath, keep them somewhere secure and put them out when you’re done.
The Part Libra Doesn’t Want You to Skip
Libra sits opposite Aries. Aries asks, “What do I want?” Libra asks, “What about everyone else?” Both questions matter. Trouble starts when you only answer the second one.
Use this ritual to hear yourself without a committee weighing in. You can love your people and still want something different. You can change your mind. You can make choices that feel harmonious because they’re honest, not because nobody objected.
Venus Retrograde Has a Question, Too
Libra’s ruler, Venus, turned retrograde on October 3 in Scorpio. She’ll return to Libra on October 25 and turn direct on November 13. While you imagine your ideal life, you may find yourself reconsidering old ideas about love, money, confidence, and what makes you happy.
Maybe your ten-out-of-ten life looks different from the one you wanted last year. Good. You’re allowed to update the vision. Write down what you want now, then let your next choice show that you mean it.
Big hugs,
