Welcome to your monthly new moon ritual with intuitive astrologer Meghan Rose. Each month, I share a ritual here on Horoscope.com to help you work with the astrology, set intentions, and bring what you’re dreaming about into your everyday life.

October’s new moon arrives in Libra on October 10, giving us a date worth playing with: 10/10. What would a “ten out of ten” life look like for you? Before you answer, consider how much of that picture comes from what you want, and how much comes from what other people expect.

With both the sun and moon in Libra, balance takes center stage. It’s easy to get caught up in whatever earns approval, gets a like, or gives you a quick rush. This month’s ritual asks you to slow down long enough to imagine a life you actually enjoy living. Let’s get into it.

Your New Moon in Libra Ritual for October

Rather than overcomplicating this month’s new moon in Libra, I want you to honor Libra’s gift for bringing beautiful ideas to life. Libra is cardinal air, ruled by Venus: thoughtful, attuned to others, and drawn to beauty and charm. Its cardinal nature gives those ideas momentum. Under the new moon on 10/10, let’s work with that energy.

Start with your materials. Choose a journal or paper and pens that feel beautiful to you. Don’t be afraid to doodle, use color, or sprinkle a little glitter on the page when you’re done.

The central question for this month’s ritual is:

“What would a balanced, peaceful, ten out of ten life look like for me?”

Before answering, take a moment to find your center. Take a few deep breaths, close your eyes, or spend some time in nature. Unplug long enough to give yourself a little distance from other people’s thoughts, opinions, and lives.

Libra energy can struggle with indecision, people-pleasing, or losing yourself in others. You might feel the urge to scroll, ask someone else what they think, or get caught up in finding the perfect words. Acknowledge that impulse, then let yourself write. Give things time to unfold.

  1. Light a candle, preferably pink or purple.
  2. Write about your ten out of ten life in as much detail as you like. Describe how you feel when you wake up, the people around you, your habits and routines, and what your home looks and feels like. What are you doing that gives you a sense of fulfillment and purpose? Use as many pages as you want.
  3. Fold the paper toward you three times.
  4. Place it under your pillow or mattress.
  5. Set a reminder for November 9, our next new moon, to return to Horoscope.com for the Scorpio new moon ritual. Before we begin that one, we’ll revisit what you’ve written and reflect on what has changed.
  6. Take a long bath by candlelight, with calming music, and relish the beauty of your life, your body, your home, and this present moment. How Venusian!

What This Libra New Moon Ritual Means for You

Libra sits opposite Aries on the zodiac wheel. While Aries is associated with the self and Libra with others, this ritual reminds you that your own voice belongs in the life you’re creating.

Each time you make a decision and listen to your inner voice, you give your ideas direction. That’s cardinal air in action: allowing your thoughts to lead the way, then taking the initiative to bring them to life. This new moon offers a chance to move beyond indecision and people-pleasing, especially where they’ve kept you from pursuing what you want.

Why Venus Retrograde Matters for This New Moon

Venus began its retrograde in Scorpio on October 3. It moves back into Libra on October 25 before stationing direct on November 13. Because Venus rules Libra, its retrograde shapes the questions we bring to this new moon.

This is a time to reflect on your finances, relationships, confidence, and the things that bring you pleasure. Consider where you feel valued, what you’re drawn to, and whether your choices still reflect what matters to you.

Let the new moon on 10/10 help you hear your own desires more clearly. As you write, pay attention to the interests you keep returning to and the changes you’ve wanted to make. Following those inclinations, one decision at a time, can help you build the life you’ve imagined.

I hope this ritual leaves you feeling confident, empowered, and more attuned to yourself and the world around you! Be sure to check back next month for your new moon in Scorpio ritual.

Big hugs, xo
